So close, yet so far way. Just when you think Scotland might defy the odds and pull an incredibly memorable result out the bag; they, well, do a Scotland!
During what has been such a disappointing World Cup Qualifying campaign, Gordon Strachan has received some flak and criticism. Poor Gordon ran off and celebrated that second goal thinking this was the best result in his career as a manager. 90 seconds later he was slamming a bottle off the ground and shouting things that can't be printed in my family friendly newsletter!
The only advice I can give Gordon Strachan is the same advice I give to some members after a Saturday Medal; Don't worry, there's always next time.

Competition round up
Who could have predicted that after the driest couple of months we've had in a long time, it would end with both the Scratch and Handicap Club Championship 1st rounds being cancelled because of flooding? Yes, probably everyone! It was just one of these unfortunate things that can happen, but thanks to everyone for re-arranging their ties in time for the next round.
Saturday was the June Medal and for the first Saturday in a few weeks, we weren't dealt heavy, thundery showers! Due to the lack of internet at the club over the weekend and the start of the week, I don't have a copy of the results. I apologise that these can't be included in the newsletter this week.
The ladies played their final Club Championship qualifier on Friday and it was a small field with only 6 playing. Please see the results below:
Lorna Jenkins - 74 BIH
Ann Mawhood - 74
There was no bonus ball this week due to the US Open Sweepstakes.
Medal Booking
Just a reminder that Saturday medals will now be booked via the club website. The first online medal goes live on Thursday night at 6pm.
