Tuition
One of the main roles I have at the club is to help our members improve their experience of coming to play golf. The most effective way I can do this is through tuition. I was absolutely delighted to see that 5 golfers that have come for help with their golf game in the last 2 months finished inside the top 5 over the 2 Open Competitions at the weekend.
If you are struggling with your game then please get in touch, we want to help you as much as we can.
Pro's Day
My first Pro's Day will be held on Saturday 19 August this year. Booking goes live on BRS this Saturday (1 July) and will be a 2 player Texas Scramble format. Although it is a 2-player event, you will have the ability to book 4 players in to a tee slot. This allows you to play with whoever you would like to.
The cost for the day is £12.50 per player.
This includes soup & sandwich, an on-course drink and entry towards a huge prize list! We are also running a sponsored option that is £32.50 per person.
This includes first priority on tee times, a 2 course meal, an extra on course drink and the option to advertise your business on the day. Get in touch for more details.
Junior Programme
Our Junior Programme for the summer holidays will be starting in a couple of weeks. There will be no coaching for the first couple of weeks due to holidays, but we will be running a medal every week of the holidays.
The coaching will begin on Thursday 20 July. This will run every week until the kids go back to school. Every Thursday afternoon, we will be holding a junior medal. The number of holes played will be based on ability and experience. The blue tees will be back in the forward position and blue tee scorecards are available to be picked up in the Pro Shop.
Coaching:
Thursday 20 July : 10.30am - 12pm
Thursday 27 July : 10.30am - 12pm
Thursday 3 August : 10.30am - 12pm
Thursday 10 August : 10.30am - 12pm
Thursday 17 August : 10.30am - 12pm
The coaching is £15 for the block.
The tee will be reserved from 1.30pm - 2pm every Thursday through the holidays for juniors wishing to play a medal round. The medals will run every week from Thursday 6 July.
Lamert Open and Campbell Stoddart Open
Last weekend the we hosted our annual Lamert Open & Campbell Stoddart Open. As always, even the lowest handicappers found our course tough, especially coupled with the blustery conditions and very quick greens. The scoring on the Sunday for the Campbell Stoddart, however, was particularly impressive. Our own Match Secretary, Stuart Hislop, produced the round of the weekend with a nett 61!
The feedback from all competitors regarding the condition of the course was incredibly positive which is always great to hear. Well done to all our greenstaff and volunteers for getting the course in pristine condition for the weekend. Please see all the results below:
