Coaching news

Junior Coaching

We will be running Junior Coaching during the October school holidays. Please see the dates and times below:

  • Monday 9th October : 10.30am – 12pm
  • Wednesday 11th October : 10.30am – 12pm
  • Friday 13th October : 10.30am – 12pm

The cost for the 3 sessions is £10 per child. Please contact the Pro Shop staff to register your child.

Competition news

Member’s Invitational Day

We have only a couple of spaces left for the above event on Sunday 1st October. Please remember that all entry money is to be paid in the Pro Shop before the day of the competition. It is free for Full members, £5 for 5 Day/Flexible members and £10 for your guest.

Final Open Competition

We hosted our final Open Competition of the year on Sunday, the Bloy Smith. The format for this was a Quad Am, which was something new for people to try out and the feedback certainly seemed to be rather positive. Please see the results below:

How often do you use yours?

Take a moment to think about this question: what is the most underused club in your bag? If you’re answering truthfully, our money is on your fairway wood, which could easily become one of your go-to clubs if you carefully consider the different test each hole provides.

Play for position

Are you guilty of always pulling driver with barely a thought to the hole you’re on, the day’s wind or ground conditions? If some of you considered the challenge more carefully, we’re sure a fairway wood would be a wiser play more often. For example, you can take a hazard completely out of play or leave a full shot to the green instead of an awkward pitch - as illustrated by the graphic here.
