Foremost Spring Workshop

Last week I travelled through to Murrayshall House Hotel for the 2018 Foremost Spring Workshop. It is an event that I look forward to every year, as it gives me a chance to share success stories and pick up new ideas from fellow Professionals that I can implement back here at Tulliallan. I always get excited about the start of the new golf season and I will continuously introduce fresh concepts and better service every year. I take great pride in regularly attending CPD courses as this helps me improve myself, and improve what I can offer you.

Golf Trip

I’m looking to run 2 golf holidays next winter and I need a minimum of 7 golfers (plus myself to make up two fourballs) for each trip. My plan is to travel to Spain/Portugal in November 2018 & February 2019. All I need you to do is make me aware if you would be interested, let me know your budget and how long you would be looking to travel for (3 nights; 1 week etc) and I can put together a potential package and get back to you. This is a great opportunity to get a trip to the sun to play on championship golf courses for the best possible price, in conjunction with Your Golf Travel.

Dispersion affects aim

Last week we dispelled the myth that custom fitting is only for low-handicap golfers – if you didn’t give it a read then make sure you do! Regardless of your ability, one of the key focuses during any iron fitting will be your dispersion and here’s why it’s so important.

Where do you aim?
As you can see in the image above, a player adopting a more aggressive strategy, highlighted in red, brings the water more into play. We would always recommend in this situation to aim for the middle of the green, as shown in white, to reduce the chance of racking up a big number. This more conservative strategy also gives you a greater margin for error should you mishit your shot.

Learning your dispersion averages and where your common miss is at a custom fitting will only help you in these situations.

One forgiving model that will help tackle your bad strikes and tighten up your dispersion is the new Wilson Staff C300.
