Woods you believe it? Wow, does it get any better than seeing Tiger Woods in contention on the final day of a Major and then going on to win it?! Not only is it one of the greatest ever comebacks in sporting history, it has also sent the golfing world into meltdown! The thing that is even better, is that the non-golfing world have been gripped by Tiger’s accomplishment. There is absolutely no coincidence that the golf industry has suffered in the years that Tiger has suffered. The reaction around the world to Sunday’s events are incredible and this can only be a good thing for the game of golf. Regardless of your opinion of the man himself, he changed golf entirely when he was in his prime and we must hope that the buzz that he brings will be here for another few years! |

Two-years ago, Woods required a nerve-blocker just to attend the Champions' Dinner and all but admitted his game was done. A spinal fusion surgery later and Tiger has completed arguably the greatest comeback of all time. Tiger's triumph was matched by Molinari's misfortune, with the Italian squandering a two-shot lead on the back-nine as he found the water twice in the space of four holes. With the next two Majors taking place at courses where the great man has won before - Bethpage Black and Pebble Beach - could we be in-store for something special in 2019? |

Perfection isn't easy!
As many of you will know, we will be working with 1 less member of the green staff this season as Stuart Raeburn is recovering from a knee op, and we all wish Stuart well in his recovery.
However, this obviously leads to a far greater workload for David, Mark & Kenny. Despite this, the golf course is in fantastic condition for the time of the year and this is testament to the amount of work that has been carried by the team, and our group of volunteers.
|
|
On top of all the tree work and general maintenance of the course, the guys have had a lot of very time-consuming jobs and it is great to see the rewards for their hard work. I must point out that we have attached new towels to the ball washers and 2 towels were stolen within 3 days, despite being padlocked on. These will not be replaced, unfortunately. Due to the stroke index changes last season, the team have had to work incredibly hard to create new tee markers on all 54 teeing areas. Recent work has also resulted in the ball washers being repaired, painted and put back out on the golf course. |
|
On a more negative note, can I please, please, please remind members to REPAIR PITCHMARKS! We have the best greens in the area and we are very proud of this fact. Please don’t let the club down, and yourself down, by not repairing these.
Even if you don’t think your ball flight will have resulted in a pitchmark, chances are that it will have. The only way that the greens can remain as good as they are is by everyone helping to look after them. |

Our latest collection of clothing has been sitting in-store for a few weeks now and, in our opinion, there's never been a better selection. From loud to safe colours, regular to athletic fit, and bold to classic designs, we really do have something for everyone this spring. |
| Glenmuir Haddington polo |
| Available with our club's crest
|
|
Some of our favourite pieces have to be these club-crested beauties from Glenmuir, who pride themselves on their craftsmanship having supplied the European Ryder Cup team on numerous occassions in the past. This stylish Haddington polo is one the best picks, with three great-looking colour options allowing you to stand out on the course for all the right reasons. Its subtle hexagonal print on the chest adds a little bit of flare to a classic two-colour design, and we think you'll love its four-way stretch fabric that offers such enjoyable comfort. We have a host of club-crested product available in-store, which make for the perfect present for a loved one (or yourself) so be sure to pop in next time you're down the club. |
