Great golf all round It feels like summer still has a long time to go, but Sunday marked the end of the 2019 Major Championships, and it was certainly a great week. Royal Portrush received praise from everyone involved and the golf course looked stunning. Shane Lowry was a hugely popular Champion, especially on home turf, and there can be no doubts that he earned the victory with sensational golf over the 4 days. It was also a tremendous week for Scotsman Bob McIntyre who finished T6th in his first-ever Major. Not only was his golf great, but the way he conducted himself when his playing partner, Kyle Stanley, refused to shout ‘fore’ when his ball was heading into the spectators was even more commendable. Bob has certainly gained a lot of new fans this week, and he has passed the 1 million Euros mark before the end of July on his first season on Tour. We also had a Scottish winner on the Challenge Tour this week, with Callum Hill winning the Euram Bank Open in Austria, with fellow Scot, Ewen Ferguson, finishing in 2nd place. Scottish Golf has had some rough times in recent years, but things are starting to look very positive.
