Nowhere to hide
There is has been no hiding place for Bryson DeChambeau this week as his Tour colleagues have turned on him due to his slow play. Having taken 3 minutes to play a pitch shot and 2 minutes for a putt, he has been hounded on social media by many. He then followed this up with a long-winded defence of himself on social media that made little sense to anyone other than him! He then challenged Brooks Koepka’s caddie to “send over your boss and he can speak to my face.” Something I’m sure he may have regretted when he remembered the size of Brooks Koepka Slow play has always been a hugely negative aspect of golf at all levels. It’s something we often face on a Saturday and there is no real excuse for it. If you lose the game in front of you, simply play the game behind through. Think about where to leave your bag when you reach the green, fill in your scorecard when somebody else is teeing off and remember that you only have 3 minutes to look for your ball. Slow play needs to be eradicated at all levels and we can all do our bit here at Tulliallan.
