Pro's news

It's not all doom and gloom

As if recent weather in these parts hasn’t been depressing enough, our national football team has gone that extra mile to make things even more depressing! I watched the game on Friday night v Russia and tried my best to stay awake which really wasn’t worth it. I chose to make the sensible decision of not even turning the Belgium game on, on Monday night. Every qualification campaign seems to be getting worse, but hopefully, the football team will start to turn things around like Professional Golf has in Scotland.

It wasn’t so long ago that Scotland had literally nothing to shout about at the top end of golf, but with Bob McIntyre recording his 3rd second-place finish of the season, we have another player inside the Top 100 in the World Rankings. We have some of our local players already secured their Tour Card for next season and more set to join them from the Challenge Tour. It really has been a great year for Scottish golfers.

The Solheim Cup

With the Solheim Cup just up the road from us, I hope many of you manage along to Gleneagles to see the elite of Women’s Professional Golf and enjoy, what I’m sure will be an incredible atmosphere. It’s always a great opportunity to see the best in the business up close and see what you can learn.

Unfortunately, due to the wet weather on Monday & Tuesday, the coring work on the greens has had to be postponed until next week. With warmer, drier weather due over the weekend and into the start of the week, this should allow for the work to get carried out.
