End of Season Review
Well, Saturday was the last competition of another busy season at the club. It certainly wasn’t the best season, weather-wise, and I believe that we had more cancellations and rescheduled competitions than the last 3 years combined. However, every competition on the fixture list was played and the standard of golf throughout the year was fantastic, once again.
If you feel your golf didn’t hit the standards that you were expecting, then why not get in touch with us and we can work on your game over the winter and make next year a lot better. I see plenty of people every year throwing money at new equipment when a couple of lessons would be a lot more beneficial. Pop in and discuss your issues and we will explain how we can help you fix them.
As mentioned previously, the weather was, overall, horrendous this year and that takes me to my next point. For almost the full golf season this year, we were operating with just three Greens Staff, and I really hope that all the members fully appreciate the amount of work that went into keeping the golf course in such magnificent condition with such a small team. Working with so few people and very limited resources, I have no idea how David and the team keep the golf course looking and playing so well. As we move into the winter, we hope that you can all do your bit to thank the guys by repairing pitchmarks, keeping electric trolley’s away from the muddy areas and using your mats in the designated areas.
Congratulations to all our prize winners this year, and hopefully we see as many of you as possible at next month’s end of season Prizegiving.
